padez is a producer from a town near mannheim which meant growing up fully submersed into the vibrant electronic music movement of mannheim and frankfurt area, but his influences grow roots deeper into the golden age of hip-hop, as well as jazz, soul, funk etc� he started producing in 2009, sharing music just in between a circle of friends, and it was not until 2013 that he had his first digital release out on basti grub�s hoehenregler records. in the meantime he took the chance to dive deeper into the sound with his friends sedee. releases on valioso recordings and medeia records among others can be expected as a result of this collaboration. the love reloaded ep on kanzyanis jesus loved you label is his first vinyl release and a homage to the music he is essentially influenced by. the ep features 3 intrinsically groovy tracks, permeated with heavy baselines and driven by upbeat, slightly broken rhythm patterns, oozing a sublime soulful vibe at the same time. truly a dance-floor delight!

israeli-born berlin based producer and dj omer debuts his first release on cocktail d amore with two offerings of celestial house. the title cut blends the sounds of the east with an immediately seductive atmosphere of bright melodies leaving the listener plenty of room to be transfixed through it s entirety. -dust- dives deeper to reveal a more melancholic mood built on a symphony of lush pads and swirling metallic percussion. on remix duties are the wonderfully quirky estonian duo ajukaja & andrevski who deliver an oddball re-imagining which sends the original into outer space as it gently builds to sparkling fervor only heard on the outskirts of galaxies. rounding out the release is man power with an acid tinged burner which explodes into en excitement of live percussion and pads leaving any dance floor in complete ecstasy.

asa moto are two mysterious producers from belgium who have been honing their sound at deewee for a number of months, delivering with their first release two futuristic pieces for the slowed down dance floor.

mono junks dum records has been dictating trends in the world of minimalistic techno since the 1990s, and its 34th release is as special as any. this one comes from label boss kimmo rapatti aka mono junk vs mesak, who is better known as fellow finn, tatu metsätähti, aka one half of mr velcto fastener and someone who has released on dexter & steffis klakson. together the pair serve up three mixes of their jam and an additional track. title track deep in my mind is a paranoid techno cut with freaky vocal riffs repeating the title as gurgling synth lines and sleek drums rumble below. twitchy synths and high pressure perc add to the hypnotic effect, and overall its easy to see this one making for some perfectly weird dance floor moments. the mix by mono junk is completely the opposite: in his hands it is a beat-less, serene and beautifully styled electro cut that takes you deep into brain soothing space. the electro mind version is then a full on electro jam, with plenty of aqueous synths and fluid lines all squiggling along in classic detroit style. final track sysdrum is back to the raw, with angsty drum lines, crisp and slapping snares and oodles of reverb all making for a brain frying trip.

ever find yourself on a long escalator in a train station? an undistinguishable robot voice is coming from the intercom. you move effortlessly on this machine, yet you do not understand the sounds coming towards you. this is the essence of vestibule. followed by the ecstatic rhythms on rising, these two make a colorful a side in contrast to the black and grey of solpara�s previous releases. the b side features two remixes, one by the prolific lestasi delloro and the other by the newest member of the booma roster: belgium lights. lestasi delloro questions the four to the floor pattern of the original track and pops it upside down, like the negative of a photograph, giving it an unexptected bounce with marvelously swung hi hats. belgium lights takes a deeper approach to the remix and stretches it out to almost 9 minutes, pulling us down the escalator, at a faster pace and through a darker tunnel.

here we have the fourth and last reference of the �moog your body� series, in which, as always, we have 4 tracks from 4 different artists. for this release we team up with cream soda aka locked club, moscow based duo, that offers a particular vision of acid house with his track �one more night stand�, mixing low-fi jacking and hip-house in a record that will be the artists first vinyl giveaway. the next cut is 6tma�s, our franchise-man. his new mutant rave composition, �joan manuel serato�, more focused towards breaks and uk hardcore, is going to destroy the dance floor again.

unequal is a label founded by anselm from frankfurt am main in 2015. ranging from deep, spaced out analog techno to more droning, industrial rough sounds, the aim is to give an impression of whats going on in the ffm underground these days. sophisticated broken beats and modular synths are essential for this project. unequal means not to be just one specified style but an open-minded platform to express a diverse view of music within the techno genre. with his first ep called -gral-, anselm delivers some cold, moody techno tracks with spherical soundscapes as an connecting element. the title track on the a side is a journey through wide open extramundane synth layers and bubbling acid drops covered by a voluminous bass. b1 is a bit more conventional one with driving hi-hats and slightly jacking beat whereas b2 is four-to-the-floor trippy stripped-down minimalism for the heads.

2016 repress.. these reworks by the revenge (soul heaven, jisco music) & greymatter (mr bongo, unique uncut) present two unique interpretations of the original, the revenge strips the track down into one of his trademark slamming mid tempo grooves, whilst greymatter keeps it closer to the original but adds a new level of drama for the dance floor. side b introduces a new talent to the scene � krl. playing on samples and influences from the soul scene and restructuring and resurrecting them as modern dance floor bangers, krls tracks are already creating a big buzz. the massive recession beat has been in constant demand since its first initial promo airings and the storming remember (greymatter rework) is also set to do big things.

heard on �melancholia� are interpretations of honzo�s subconscious visions of life. the intense compositions are made up of drones, noises and distorted beats moving in and out of the frame. on opener �orientalism� said elements blend with hi-hat brushes, brassy synth pads, sci-fi noises and distant human voices evoking islam�s �adhan� (call to prayer). the theme contemplates over alienation caused by western accounts of �orientalism�, soaked in �hüzün� (the turkish term for melancholia). on a2 a rework of �moral masochism� is provided by the mysterious shadows outfit, starting with a distorted guitar over a slow and gritty rhythmic backbone which gradually turns into a chaotic high-intensity acid jam on the ep�s most dance floor suitable cut. on the flipside, �lovesickness� presents a broken kick rhythm periodically flipped by toms and accompanied by a disorienting hi-hat rhythm, ghostly strings and sporadic human moans � all resulting in a tribal mood, recalling a ceremony, perhaps a quest for a saviour from the blue temper? b2 presents the �moral masochism� original. again a distorted guitar plays over a slow rhythm, but compared to the remix, the original�s intensity is introverted, contemplating over melancholia�s effect of deriving gratification from self-inflicted moral humiliation. ambient closer �emptiness� explores a cold state with such an encapsulating airiness that it feels like a close account of another person�s mood down to the impression of their breath. arpeggiated synth noises appear from a distance representing increasing pressure from the outside world without ever suppressing the state of mind. as a result, �emptiness� sums up the state of melancholia experienced as a mood rather than the effect of a cause.

lady blacktronika shows two totally different sides to her character with her return to bass culture via a potent ep full of deliciously dark, bass-heavy productions placed side by side with more soulful explorations of the house sound. following the �all in vain� ep, which landed earlier this year, lady blacktronika comes correct once again with a collection of four of the finest quality cuts. our introduction to the ep is a thorough dip in the deep end of tech house, with the marauding �it rains�. full of darkness, the venomous track stomps along with a powerful, darkside bassline and razor-sharp percussion. high-pitched keys add to the malevolent flavour of this raw cut. after that, we get a more measured, yet mysterious and unsettling slice of minimal funk. �no good� is a hypnotic trip inside lady blacktronika�s murky world with snarling synth lines, clever percussion, eerie fx and a naughty little b-line. on the flip we have retro-inspired �call my name�, with a very old school feel as the 808 gets a proper workout in tandem with a familiar female spoken-word vocal layered over the top. this is bound to send the dance floor into uproar with its killer vocal sample. finally �set out your luv� gives the ep a heady ending, light airy pads are placed alongside a grooving bassline, soulful vocals, diamond-cut beats and squelchy effects to create a lush, dreamy soundscape which will get those hips moving�.
